Counterpractice is turning the usual patterns of thought and behaviour on their head in order to, crucially, gain (shamanic) insight. This is done by approaching and engaging in practices that we would normally shy away from, understanding that things that make us uncomfortable can be our very best teachers. The heart of counter practice is to open new spaces on all levels taking on new points of view philosophically /grossly. Most important counter practice is Samadhi – the counter practice to one’s entire identity. When properly done this is a self-directed process.
